Your options in paintball gear for sale

Are you in the market for some paintball gear but haven’t got a clue about where to start? You literally have a ton of options when it comes to paintball gear for sale in the market; getting started with the essential ones can be a challenge especially when you’ve got a fairly limited budget to work with.

Getting started with paintball gear in Australia

Now apart from paintball guns or “markers”, people looking to get started with paintball will require a number of gear to ensure their safety and to make the most out of the experience. Such gear include:

Paintball mask

Perhaps the most important paintball gear that you can get your hands on and an essential one at that. This is one gear you shouldn’t skimp on and as a matter of fact, organisers won’t let you on the field without a good paintball mask on. Paintball markers fire rounds at a rate of around 200 fps; more than enough to injure one’s face or eyes without adequate protection.

Get a mask that is rated specifically for paintball use and you’re comfortable wearing. You could end up wearing the mask for hours on the field and under no circumstances are you allowed to remove it. Added features such as anti-fog couldn’t hurt; anything that will help you to better navigate the field and spot your enemy from a distance. After all, you can’t hit what you can’t see considering that you’re not allowed to remove the mask while you’re on the field. Any problems with the mask puts you at a serious disadvantage and you’ll have to leave the field before you can sort it out.

Base Clothing

Anything that you can use to cover the rest of your body and soften the blow of a paintball round. Options abound from simple jerseys and field jackets to a full BDU. Ideally you’d want to opt for base clothing with camouflaged patterns suitable for paintball field that you’re on as it’ll make it that much harder for your opponents to spot you.

Tactical Vest

Yet another popular choice when it comes to paintball gear in Australia are tactical vest or packs. Preferably one that will allow you to carry other essential gear in the field - extra pods of paint, hydration pouch, a radio and perhaps a few energy bars.

A backup paintball marker

You may be armed with one of the best paintball markers around but it wouldn’t hurt to have a secondary weapon on the field. Preferably you’d want to get a pistol marker; one that you can attach to your lower extremities for easy reach.

Tactical Boots

Paintball players need to keep moving on the field and a good pair of tactical boots is a must for avid players of the sport. Get one that is comfortable to wear and water resistant; the last thing you need is to spend hours on the field with wet socks although some players may argue that it can be helped.

Tactical gloves

A paintball round can hurt if it hits exposed areas of your body especially your hands. A good pair of gloves will help minimise all that and provide added grip as you manoeuvre through the playing field.
